'Commends Yarmuth,' C-J Letters

Over the past several months Congress has debated creating a Housing Stimulus bill to address many of the ills within our national housing industry. Over that time period, Rep. John Yarmuth represented Louisville well by always staying focused on what was best for Louisville as well as the nation as a whole.
Yarmuth was a leader in the House on approving this landmark legislation by pressing House Speaker Pelosi to not only include the first-time home buyers' tax credit, but also extend the tax credit to July 2009, well beyond the time first proposed. In addition, the congressman understood well how the housing downturn was affecting his constituents, from homeowners, home builders and real estate professionals to those in need of financial assistance to avert foreclosure.
Yarmuth should be commended for his leadership and support of HR 3221. ...
