VA Funding Proposed by Yarmuth Passes in House

Funding for a new VA hospital in Louisville initially proposed by U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth (D-Louisville) has cleared another hurdle today, as the bill in which it is contained was approved by the full U.S. House.

This summer I had the opportunity to participate in an internship program in Washington, D.C. I wanted to meet Rep. John Yarmuth, as he is my representative for the 3rd District. Upon my arrival, his staff was so welcoming and asked if I wanted to join them in the House Gallery while Rep. Yarmuth voted.
Portland Museum receives $364,000 federal grant
The Portland Museum will receive a $364,126 National Endowment for the Humanities grant to install state-of-the art climate control systems to protect its collection, U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth announced Monday.
Post office named for Fallen Heroes

Whenever people go to the post office in Hikes Point to mail a letter or buy stamps, they will also be reminded of the sacrifice local members of the military have made for their country.
Yesterday, the facility on Hunsinger Lane was dedicated as Fallen Heroes Post Office, honoring those killed while on duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Attorney general launches gas price inquiry

An expert on oil pricing and economics has advised Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway that there's something "extraordinary" happening in Jefferson County to push gasoline prices 30 cents to 40 cents higher than in surrounding counties.
