Giving Back
Beginning in 2006, Congressman Yarmuth pledged to donate his Congressional salary to Louisville charities, a pledge he's kept every year since. The Congressman donated his entire post-tax salary for 2009, in varying sums, to the 30 local charities listed below. Congressman Yarmuth also voted against pay raises for members of Congress.
“There are many important charities and organizations that have been hit hard by the economic crisis,” said Congressman Yarmuth. “Even as we begin to see signs of recovery, it is critical that these groups have the resources they need to strengthen Louisville families and neighborhoods. I am proud to be able to help them serve our community and am honored to be their ally in Congress.”
